چکیده

We measured the relative positions between two pairs of compact extragalactic sources (CESs), J1925-2219 \& J1923-2104 (C1--C2) and J1928-2035 (C1--C3) on 2020 October 23--25 2021 February 5 (totaling four epochs), respectively, using Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) at 15 GHz. Accounting for deflection angle dominated by Jupiter, as well contributions from Sun, planets other than Earth, Moon Ganymede (the most massive solar system's moons), our theoretical calculations predict that dynamical ranges across epochs in R.A. C1--C2 pair C1--C3 are 841.2 1127.9 $\mu$as, respectively. The formal accuracy is about 20 but error Decl. poor. standard deviations 51.0 29.7 $\mu$as C1--C3, These values indicate post-Newtonian relativistic parameter, $\gamma$, $\sim 0.061$ 0.026$ C1--C3. Combining CES pairs, value $\gamma$ $0.984 \pm 0.037$, which comparable to latest published results Jupiter a gravitational lens reported Fomalont Kopeikin, i.e., $1.01 0.03$.

Probing the anisotropic velocity of light in a gravitational field: another test of general relativity

A corollary of general relativity that the velocity of light is anisotropic in a gravitational field has received little attention so far. It is shown that this anisotropy can be directly probed by an experiment initially proposed for testing the one-way velocity of light. The proposed experiment constitutes another test of general relativity since the anisotropy in the propagation of light in ...

The gravitational deflection of light in MOND

The deflection angle ∆φ of light rays by the gravitational field of a spherical system M(r) is calculated using the MOdified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND). It is shown that ∆φ with an impact parameter r0 can be expressed by the measured rotation velocity v(r) as

Gravitational deflection of light and helicity asymmetry

The helicity modification of light polarization which is induced by the gravitational deflection from a classical heavy rotating body, like a star or a planet, is considered. The expression of the helicity asymmetry is derived; this asymmetry signals the gravitationally induced spin transfer from the rotating body to the scattered photons. E-Mail: [email protected]

Gravitational redshift and deflection of slow light

We explore the nature of the classical propagation of light through media with strong frequency-dependent dispersion in the presence of a gravitational field. In the weak field limit, gravity causes a redshift of the optical frequency, which the slow-light medium converts into a spatially varying index of refraction. This results in the bending of a light ray in the medium. We further propose e...

Velocity Effects on the Deflection of Light by Gravitational Microlenses

We study the influence of general lens and source velocities on the gravitational deflection of light by single and two-point-mass microlenses with general axis orientation. We demonstrate that in all cases the lens equation preserves its form exactly. However, its parameters – the Einstein radius and the binarylens separation – are influenced by the lens velocity. In Galactic microlensing sett...
